“What happens to zoo animals when they are past their young, energetic and “cute” years?

A new documentary by California-based journalist and filmmaker Becca Friedman, a recent graduate of the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, explores the lives of aged zoo animals through Colo, the oldest living Gorilla on her 55th birthday.

The film was produced under the guidance of renowned documentary filmmakers Jon Else, Spencer Nakasako, Bonni Cohen, Jon Shenk, and Richard Berge.

Past Their Prime was awarded a Bronze Plaque by the 60th Columbus International Film + Video Festival – Chris Awards and has been been accepted in several other film festivals.”
